Heritage Women's Center Pregnancy Financial Policy

Please be advised of Heritage Women’s Center policy concerning your pregnancy and insurance coverage. Heritage Women's Center does not accept TennCare/Medicaid in any form. If TennCare/Medicaid becomes your primary or secondary insurance at any time during your pregnancy, we will not be able to continue as your provider. 

Unlike other types of medical services, obstetric care is billed globally, and will be billed at the end of your pregnancy, and will be billed at the end of your pregnancy once you deliver. The global fee includes routine visits, delivery charges, and the six week postpartum visit. Please note that this is the physician’s obstetric fee only and does not include hospital fees. Please verify with your insurance company that Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown or TriStar Centennial Medical Center are in network with your plan.

During your pregnancy, providers may order other services such as:

• ultrasounds
  • 222 Patients: administered by Vanderbilt Center for Women’s Imaging | (615) 936-3606
  • WG Patients: administered by Tennessee Maternal Fetal Medicine | (615) 284-8636
• non-stress tests
• biophysical profiles
• lab work
• pathology services

These services are billed to your insurance at the time of service, and are not included in the global care fee. Additionally, the same will apply if you are seen for any problem or condition unrelated to your pregnancy. You may be responsible for a copay, co-insurance and/or deductible for these types of services.

Costs not covered by your insurance include form completion such as disability and FMLA paperwork. Please note that you are responsible for confirming the length of time you require for FMLA on your paperwork and with the office. If this information is not communicated, it will be assumed as 6-8 weeks. The fee for form completion is $25.00+ depending on the number of forms, complexity and frequent edits. This fee will be collected at the time you receive your completed forms from the office.

You will be asked to pay an initial OB deposit of $125.00. This will go towards your amount due. Pre-payment for obstetric care is required and will be based on your current year’s benefits. 

The total must be paid, in full, prior to your 24th week visit using the payment plan. NO EXCEPTIONS.  You should receive this estimate around your 12th week in which you will be ask to sign the estimate.  Please note this should be paid with personal debit or credit card, if you use a FSA card you will not be reimbursed until after the delivery. For questions on your estimate, please contact our OB Billing Coordinator at your provider’s office location – contact information listed below.
