The Department of Neurology specializes in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients that have problems related to the nervous system.

Our experienced physicians treat problems of the central nervous system including multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, epilepsy, stroke, migraine; and also problems of the peripheral neuromuscular system such as neuropathy, myasthenia, spinal problems, muscle disorders.

Diagnostic Testing & Treatment

Sometimes diagnostic testing is necessary to help understand the patient’s problem. Tests that we commonly order include MRI scans, electroencephalogram (EEG), nerve conduction testing, carotid artery ultrasound, and blood work.

Our treatment recommendations vary according to the problem, but often include: lifestyle change, medication, physical therapy, and sometimes injection treatments. If surgery is felt necessary, a referral is made to a neurosurgeon.
