Nashville native, Dr. Neil Kirshner, completed his undergraduate degree at Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. Having wanted to be a pediatrician since kindergarten, he continued his mission in medical school at East Tennessee State University where he earned his medical degree. From there, Dr. Kirshner then moved to Houston where he was afforded the opportunity to complete his pediatric residency at Baylor College of Medicine / Texas Children’s Hospital. Being the largest children’s hospital and one of the top 5 pediatric programs in the nation, Dr. Kirshner was grateful for the opportunity to receive hands-on training and not just read about the many diseases and best practices in managing children. After completing his residency, he then practiced pediatrics in Houston for seven years before his return home to Tennessee.

Dr. Kirshner joined this practice in 2003. He is board certified in pediatrics, as well as a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Tennessee Medical Association. Dr. Kirshner is involved with several location medical organizations and serves on several committees. For fun, he enjoys spending weekend time playing with his grandchildren and both playing and following tennis. Having grown up playing hockey, he also enjoys following the Preds and is excited to see how popular it has become for kids in the Nashville area. Finally, Dr. Kirshner is a proud new dad to Grover, an 85-pound rescue dog who loves to pull his dad around and shed all over his car.
