About

Dr. Candace Sanders grew up in Bath, North Carolina and later moved to Bristol, Tennessee during high school. She then attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she earned dual degrees in Biochemistry and Psychology. She continued her graduate education in Tennessee, receiving both a Master in Pharmacology and Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis.

Dr. Sanders completed her internship and neurology residency at the University of South Carolina, where she was Chief Resident. She completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology (EEG/IOM) at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, as well as a fellowship in Epilepsy Research at New York University-Langone Medical Center where she focused on responsive neurostimulation (RNS).

 After completing her medical training, Dr. Sanders returned to her home state of Tennessee with her husband, who was born and raised in Nashville. In her free time, she enjoys golfing and exploring local restaurants.
