Originally from New Orleans, Dr. Tai earned his MD degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in Shreveport, La in 1994. He completed his Internal Medicine internship and residency at Duke University Medical Center in 1997. Initially he joined a multi-specialty practice in Pensacola, Florida.

Dr. Tai then joined Heritage Medical Associates in February, 2002. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Physicians. He received the Attending Physician of the Year award in 2005 for his support and education of the medical residents at Baptist Hospital. His clinical interests include cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, preventive health, and patient safety.

His hobbies include airshow photography and ballroom dancing.
