J. Matthew Hardin, M.D.

Physician - Dermatology
About

Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, Dr. Hardin grew up on military bases in the US and Germany. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned his Doctor of Medicine from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. Originally choosing emergency medicine as his specialty, Dr. Hardin completed an emergency medicine residency and a chief resident year at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. After practicing adult and pediatric emergency medicine, Dr. Hardin realized that dermatology is where his academic interests lie. He then returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to complete his second residency in dermatology and served as a chief resident in his final year.

Dr. Hardin's practice focuses on the comprehensive care of adult and pediatric dermatology patients. This includes medical dermatology, in-office surgical management of benign and malignant lesions, and cosmetic procedures. He is passionate about skin cancer prevention and treatment, acne, psoriasis, and eczema. Dr. Hardin understands your time is important and you should expect your appointment to be prompt, respectful and individualized.

Taking the step to be evaluated by a dermatologist is important. Knowing your dermatologist is properly trained is critical. Not only has Dr. Hardin completed a rigorous dermatology residency, but he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology (board certified dermatologist participating in continued medical education) and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Through Dr. Hardin’s training, certification, and continuing education, you are choosing the best possible care for your skin, hair, and nails.
